Materials Technician
Continued demand for our testing
services has resulted in the need to recruit a permanent materials technician
for our Peace River location. You must be able to work independently for a
variety of periods of time and be flexible with your schedule, as weekend and
holiday work may be required. Additionally, this position may require you to
travel or work away from home.
Technicians
will perform materials
testing duties which may include:
- Quality
assurance/control testing of various construction materials such as soils,
asphalt, and concrete
- Limited report writing
responsibilities in line with your level of experience
- Lab testing – concrete,
sieves, proctors, asphalt
- Field inspections and
surveying
- Vibration monitoring
- Compaction testing
- Concrete testing
- Pile monitoring
Applicants
must be able to speak and comprehend the English language at a high technical
level for both oral and written presentation. Competent on computers and
various software programs is a requirement. The
preferred candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in testing materials or
have a construction and outdoor background.
In addition to strong computer skills applicants must have a good driving
record, a valid driver’s license, and be able to provide a 3-year driver’s
abstract upon request.
