ParklandGEO is an association of independently owned and operated engineering firms established in Red Deer, Alberta in 2000. We provide a wide range
of services in Geotechnical Engineering: routine and advanced construction
QA/AC including PDA and pile load testing, soil and aggregate testing;
Materials Engineering: materials testing (concrete, asphalt, soil), and
construction monitoring; Environmental Site Assessments: environmental
consulting, remediation and project management; soil and groundwater
Continued demand for our services and upcoming
projects have resulted in an opening for a seasonal Materials Testing Technician in the Sherwood Park office. Technicians must be capable of working alone
for durations of varying lengths. To be successful you must be flexible to meet
the time demands of the client and a short construction season. The
summer construction period is our busiest time of the year and for this reason
we are unable to accommodate requests for time off outside of scheduled rest
While working as part of a team based out of the Sherwood Park office your responsibilities will be:
assurance/control testing of various construction materials such as soils,
asphalt, and concrete.
report writing responsibilities based on level of experience.
of geotechnical design, analysis, and computer modelling programs.
design work of roads and highways, site grading, and drainage.
testing, including concrete, sieves, proctors, and asphalt.
inspections and surveying.
Consideration will be given to the following applicants with:
- Minimum 2 years post secondary education in civil engineering.
- Preference give to applicants with one season of materials testing experience.
and clear professional written and oral communications.
solid grasp of the English language, clearly understood and excellent
computer skills, with experience with Microsoft Office applications.
will be given to applicants with a construction and outdoor background.
to travel for work out of town and stay overnight as required.
to work overtime, weekends, and statutory holidays, as required, based
upon project schedule and request of the client.
possess a valid driver's license and provide a current five year driver's
safety tickets are an asset: First Aid and CPR, CSTS, WHMIS, and TDG.
in the Sherwood Park/Edmonton area or be willing to relocate prior to start date at
testing experience or related post secondary education is an asset.
