Client: Mountain View Regional Waste Management Commission (MVRWMC) |
Location: Didsbury, Alberta |
Type: Landfill Consulting |
ParklandGEO has worked closely with the Mountain View Regional Waste Management Commission (MVRWMC) since the Didsbury landfill opened in 2004 to provide a profitable, flexible Class II and Class III landfill that accepts waste from several municipalities and transfer stations, serving both municipal and rural constituents.
ParklandGEO has performed has performed work through all stages of the landfill to date. We completed the geological and hydrogeological site assessment and registration application for a small landfill. We have also performed the cell design (including compacted clay liner, geomembrane liner, leachate collection using recycled tire shred aggregate) and Cells 1 through 3 QA testing, as well as ongoing yearly groundwater/surface water sampling and reporting and yearly operational reporting
Recently we have completed and submitted and a landfill approval application for over 10,000 tonnes (currently under final review by AENV) and are also working to implement a contaminated soil reclamation program at the landfill site, which would allow them to accept hydrocarbon contaminated waste and condition it for use as daily cover, as well as provide substantial operational income for the landfill
We continue to work with MVRWMC to ensure the Didsbury landfill remains a viable asset for the Commission and the community.
