In the fall of 2010, ParklandGEO was commissioned as a subconsultant to Focus Corporation on behalf of Parkland County to perform a geotechnical investigation and provide construction and pavement recommendations for approximately 6.4 km section of Campsite Road, between Secondary Highways 627 and 628 in Parkland County, Alberta. Campsite Road had experienced a heavy increase in vehicular traffic and was beyond its design capacity. Due to the increased traffic, the road was requiring continual repair.
ParklandGEO was asked to perform a geotechnical investigation in order to assess the subgrade profile along the road alignment, as well as the existing fill quality and groundwater conditions. From this information, ParklandGEO was able to provide Focus Corporation with a design pavement structure to ensure long term reliability of the road.
The ParklandGEO personnel responsible for this project include Mike McCormick, P. Eng. as senior engineer and Daniel Yost, P. Eng. as project manager.
The client contact was Mr. Gary Stone, P. Eng. of Focus Corporation, (780) 465-6555.
