About the Opportunity
Continuing demand for the kinds of services that we provide has resulted in immediate openings for an Intermediate Materials Technician to perform various geotechnical engineering, construction monitoring and materials testing duties. Our Sherwood Park office has 1 opening for the right applicant.
As a Materials Technician, you will be responsible for:
- The quality assurance/control testing of various construction materials such as soils, asphalt, and concrete;
- Candidates will also be responsible for field inspections and surveying;
- Some design work of roads & highways, site grading & drainage;
- The use of computer design tools;
- Perform various levels of project management;
- Some report writing.
Candidates must be willing to work in a team environment and overtime for this position is expected.
Consideration will be given to applicants with an interest and education in civil engineering or civil engineering technology or a related discipline who have 3-5 years of experience. Candidates should also be eligible for membership in the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET). We are looking for individuals with integrity and dedication. Applicants should have strong computer skills and valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
